HISTORY
Hillside Cemetery was created as a garden-style cemetery. Most of the prominent Torrington figures of the post-1900s, such as the Hotchkiss-Fyler Family and Major Besse, are buried here.
The grounds were designed by the Olmsted Brothers, sons of famed landscape architect
Frederick Law Olmsrted.
Historic photos from the construction of the cemetery can be found here.
